The environment at Inspirit is one where you will be comfortable whether you are independent, or, for whatever reason, need some assistance to meet the excitement of each day's opportunities.
Good food, clean surroundings, educational stimulation, medical attention, transportation, and interesting recreation programs are all important, but if attention to spirit, your individual spirit, is overlooked, you will not be truly happy.

FACILITIES
Every apartment is just that, a full-sized apartment, architecturally designed with you in mind. Wheel-chair accessibility, wide hallways and doors, only begin to demonstrate the attention that has been paid to the features designed into the building in anticipation of your needs. Whether it is our one-bedroom apartment, with 950 square feet, or one of our three varieties of two-bedroom apartments with 1,060 to 1,190 square feet, plenty of space is provided to enable you to live in an independent manner.
Each apartment has its own thermostat to allow you to set the temperature in your comfort zone. Each apartment has a full-sized balcony and comes with five appliances. There is a three- to four-piece bathroom for each bedroom in the apartment. Grass and trees surround the apartment building, with ample room for flower and vegetable gardens.
To ensure the security of the building there three keys per apartment; one to the outer door of the building, the second to your apartment, and the third to common area rooms. In addition, there is a video camera at the front door so you can see your guests before you let them in. To enhance your security inside your apartment, there are pull cords, which activate an alarm in the main office. The alarm is monitored 24 hours a day.
All common areas of the building are sprinkled for fire safety while each apartment is equipped with its own fire and heat alarm. No effort has been spared in creating a residence that you will be able to call home.

STAFFING
The first thing you will notice at Inspirit is the people whose responsibility it is to make you and your guests feel at home. After all, Inspirit Residences is your home. Warm greetings and friendly hellos are backed up by technical competence and on-going training in every aspect of the residence.

PERSONAL CARE SERVICES
In addition to the staff, who have all received Cardio Pulmonary Recitation (CPR) and First Aid training, a Registered Nurse is available during the daytime. Your nurse has the responsibility of assessing your medical needs when your arrive at Inspirit; ensuring that the care level agreed to by yourself is met; serving as your liaison and advocate with the health care system; co-ordinating your care as prescribed by your personal physician; co-ordinating the availability of Inspirit's consulting family physician, podiatrist, chiropractor, masseur, and physiotherapist; ensuring the staff's training is all up to date; and managing the convalescent care program. As you can see, the nurse is intricately involved in all the activities at Inspirit Residences.

RECREATION PROGRAM
In addition to your own circle of friends and activities, our Program Director is there to help you identify meaningful and gratifying activities. Our objective is not just to keep you busy, but to involve you in activities that you enjoy and that contribute to your sense of well being. Special facilities such as the Medical Suite and Hair Salon will meet your personal needs. Other rooms have been designed to encourage inside activities such as crafts, exercise, reading, browsing the Internet, speaker's programs, travelogues, movies, and educational programs. External activities such as theatre trips and shopping sprees are arranged for those who are interested. Transportation to all external events will be arranged by Inspirit. In some cases a special fee will be necessary to cover the one-time costs of an excursion.

SECURITY AND SAFETY
Providing you with a safe and secure environment is the focus of our attention here at Inspirit. From the key-controlled entrance monitored with a video camera, to the pull-cords appropriately placed throughout your apartment, features which enhance your personal safety have been designed into the residence. To complement these features, responsibility has been assigned to Inspirit's staff to ensure someone is on site 24 hours a day to provide assistance when needed.

FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM
A balanced and nutritious diet is the basis for continuing health. Inspirit's executive chef has the responsibility of working with you, to understand your nutritional needs. Three nutritious meals per day along with snacks and afternoon teas will satisfy any appetite. Our Chef will meet with you to identify any preferences and to ensure the meals complement and support any medical condition. Picnics, barbecues, birthday parties, and special holiday meals will be sprinkled throughout the year to ensure no one gets bored with the menu.
Our meals are generally served in the dining room on the main floor, but if you have a desire to dine separately with visiting family members or friends, you can make arrangements to use the private dining room. On special occasions, as well as when you are ill, meals can be brought to your apartment.

FEES
When you decide to live at Inspirit Residences, you will sign an agreement, which can be cancelled with 30 days notice. The monthly fee will be payable on the first day of each month. The charges at Inspirit begin with the Residence Package and increase to the Full Service Package depending on the services desired.
